When using the FUJITSU Cloud Service S5 some
limitations and considerations apply: Please make sure you have read and
accepted the following points before you apply for a service.
Please do not disable a virtual machines network adapter or change the
IP Address. This will prevent communication with the server.
Always make sure a backup of the server is
performed before making any changes to the Firewall or IP Table
as this can cause communication with the server to be lost. If this
occurs, restore the server from the backup.
Be careful when trying to create a Virtual Private Network(VPN)
between the virtual server and a remote destination as there is a chance
that Network IP address duplication could occur which will prevent
communication to the server. To prevent the possibility of network IP
address duplication, please take care when defining the network IP address
range to be used within the FUJITSU Cloud Service S5 environment.
When using Static IP address or multiple NIC, please make sure NOT to create overlapped IP addresses.
SSL-VPN connection function console
If you are accessing the internet via a proxy and you are unable to establish the SSL-VPN connection with this service,
please exclude the following URLs in your proxy settings.
Similarly, if you have turned on IE protected mode (for IE 7 and later), please add the following URLs into the 'Trusted Sites' under 'IE Internet Options' -> 'Security'.

Virtual Machine related
Notice on support for additional disks.
FUJITSU Cloud Service S5 offers the creation and attachment to VMs of additional disks with a capacity of up to 10TB. However, the support and compatibility of some images is limited below 10TB.
System images based on the below operating systems have a compatibility limit of 2TB per additional disk, independent of file systems such as GPT. In the case that over 2TB additional disk is required, new PV driver needs to be replaced. Please refter to "PV driver install guide" on Manual page for more details. (The new PV driver is also downloadable from Manual page.)
- Windows Server 2008 SE/EE R2 SP1 64bit

System images based on the below operating systems have a support service restriction of 8TB for additional disks. Disks larger than this size can be connected, but support service is not offered for their use together with these images.

System Requirements for Server Console
Server Console functionality is only available in the condition below.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 [Microsoft Windows7 (32bit/64bit)]
NOTE: Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 on Windows8 is not supported.
- Mozilla Firefox 20 [Microsoft Windows7 (32bit/64bit), Windows 8(32bit/64bit)]
Packet capture on loadbalancer might terminate in some cases.
On loadbalancers, the following operations terminate the packetcaptures as they cause the loadbalancers to restart automatically.
• Restore configuration for the loadbalancer
- The Vserver status is displayed as "Failed" on the standby side of redundant loadbalancer.
- When load balancers are redundant, the status of VMs in the redundant group is displayed as "Failed" on the standby side at "Statistics" screen.
- When checking the load-balancing status of a VM, please confirm the status from the active side.
- There are cases where FW or SLB redundancy cannot be removed.
- When removing redundancy on a FW or SLB, the below message below may be displayed. In this case, please re-open the "System Details" screen on System Manager and try to remove the redundancy again.
Message: "Unable to stop redundancy since primary servers are not running.
After starting server, please try again."
Virtual Machine related
The CPU resources assigned to the virtual machine will differ from the CPU specs detected and displayed by the VM Operating System.
Operating System CPU Specs reflects the physical CPU on the host system. Please use the System Manager in My Portal to check actual allocation of CPU resources.
When using sar command on Linux OS, the “%steal” value appears as a disproportionate large number.
This is due to the system programmatically designed to display as such when operating in a virtual environment.
The allocated CPU resources can be confirmed on the System Manager in My Portal menu.
When “force-stop” action is applied to a virtual machine using the System Manager, the OS will not shut down gracefully.
Windows virtual machines may display the "shutdown event" tracking dialog screen at the next reboot.
When starting a virtual machine from System Manager, the OS on the virtual machine may still require some time
to complete the boot up sequence after the state is changed to “running” in the portal.
Please wait a few moments for the OS to finish starting.
On Windows 2003, the virtual machine shutdown sequence may not complete successfully in the following situations(Microsoft published information).
• Screen saver starts or is running. • Username and password dialog
is open or displayed. • Shutdown using a scheduler invoked with a command/ program such as "shutdown.exe".
When using Red Hat Update Infrastructure (RHUI) service, to make use of packages offered via the Red Hat Network(RHN) option repository (not covered by support),
please use the RHUI Agent(6.x) published on the Manual page after July 15th, 2015.
Billing / Charges
The billing system tracks usage based on the deployed VM types/ images. The monthly charge will be the same even when commercial middleware installed
on the image by default is manually uninstalled.
SSL-VPN Console connection
SSL-VPN Connection can be established only via the Internet.
SSL-VPN Connection cannot be established over the Intranet (E.g. MPLS/ DC internal connection).
The SSL-VPN Connection can only establish access to the virtual system network created within the service from your local machine.
If the internet connection or remote client network is busy, SSL-VPN connection may be affected.
If disconnected, please re-establish the SSL-VPN connection.
Global IP Addresses that are released may be re-allocated to other
systems after certain period of time.
Please remove the IP addresses from DNS records before releasing and
make sure not to reference the IP addresses directly.
If the following message is displayed in batch-updating the FW rules,
please check that the CSV file content is sorted by ID.
Message:“Failed to set firewall rules.
Please try again.”
